Why Become a Member of The Great Lakes Historical Society?
Joining The Great Lakes Society as a member allows you to share a commitment to our mission: to preserve
and make known the important history of the U. S. and Canadian Great Lakes.
We accomplish this mission by publishing Inland Seas®, the finest quarterly journal dedicated to Great
Lakes history in the world! We also operate the Inland Seas Maritime Museum in Vermilion, Ohio. Also at our
facility in Vermilion is our Clarence S. Metcalf Great Lakes Maritime Research Library and our Peachman
Lake Erie Shipwreck Research Center. These activities and facilities make The Great Lakes Historical Society
the premier organization dedicated to preserving the history of the Great Lakes!
Another great reason to join The Great Lakes Historical Society is for the membership benefits! As a member of our
