Joining The Great Lakes Society as a member allows you to share a commitment to our mission: to preserve and make known the important history of the U. S. and Canadian Great Lakes.We accomplish this mission by publishing Inland Seas, the finest quarterly journal dedicated to Great Lakes history in the world! We also operate the Inland Seas Maritime Museum in Vermilion, Ohio. Also at our facility in Vermilion is our Clarence S. Metcalf Great Lakes Maritime Research Libraryand our Peachman Lake Erie Shipwreck Research Center. These activities and facilities make The Great Lakes Historical Society the premier organization dedicated to preserving the history of the Great Lakes! Gift Memberships

Membership to The Great Lakes Historical Society makes a great gift any time of the year! Memberships can be purchased as a gift at any level. Gift Membership recipients are entitled to all the membership benefits The Great Lakes Historical Society has to offer! When a gift membership is purchased, the recipient will receive a certificate recognizing their membership and its purchaser. First-time members will recieve a GLHS calendar and a copy of George Wakefield’s Lure of the Lakes. If you are interested in purchasing a gift membership, simply print out the membership application below and fill out the “Gift Membership” portion of the application.
