There are so many ways that you can support our organization and our mission of preserving Great Lakes history. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities at the museum and we would love to tell you all about them. Join us for an informational meeting (and some light refreshments) to learn more about ways you can help support us. Making of a Museum Tug: The History of the Great Lakes Towing Company by Paul LaMarre, III, Chair of the Vessel Committee at National Museum of the Great Lakes. Nautical Archaeology Workshop 2019

One of the cornerstones of of the shipwreck research program at the National Museum of the Great Lakes is its training program run in conjunction with the Maritime Archaeology Survey Team.  This training program has trained over 350 avocational archaeologists over the last 15 years.  The training is over three days: April 13-14 and either May 18 or 19.  You do not have to be a SCUBA diver to take the training. Once again, we would like to thank you for all of your support as members of the National Museum of the Great Lakes. Come aboard for a pancake breakfast to celebrate the 2019 season opening of the Col. James M. Schoonmaker. Breakfast is prepared in the galley and served in the crew’s mess and officer’s dining room. There is no fee for the event, but donations are always appreciated. The museum grounds are in need of some attention. Whether you can plant flowers, spread mulch or pick up trash, we have jobs for all ages. Bring the whole family! Come out and volunteer two hours of your time and be entered into a raffle to win Disney Hopper Passes. The…
